I have spent literally hours creating this autumn themed blog stuff for you, so I hope at least somebody finds it appealing :) I have created a blog template which comes in a photo header and plain header version and a sidebar graphic. The items were created using my latest digital scrapbooking kit, I Smell Autumn Coming, which is available now from my digiscrapping store. The I Smell Autumn Coming range includes a digiscrapping kit, wordart clusters, 2 sets of alphas, a quick page and a template. If digiscrapping is “your thing” go check them out. As with all of my new releases, you can enter the draw to win a copy of the kit (or in this case, the entire set) by leaving a comment on the kit release post.
Of course, the kit would make a great tool for creating your own autumn themed blog design. All of my kits are blog designer friendly, so you can be certain that you won’t be breaking my terms of use by creating blog designs with them :)
Blog template with photo header
Template includes a header, background, borders, post icon, favicon, post icon, footer background and automatically appearing widget labels. It comes as a 2 column wide layout only (best for readability!), but if you’d like to put in some work, you can convert it to a 3 column blog by following the tutorial here. Don’t forget to follow this tutorial if you need to adjust the position of your blog header and subtitle. Find out how to install the template here. To find out how to remove the header from the template so that you can add your photo and then replace the header, go here.
Blog Template with plain header
Something for the people who don’t have a photo to put in their header – or who don’t want to add one :)
Sidebar graphic
Right click to save the image from screen and then copy place it as a photo into a “photo” widget in your sidebar or footer.
Backgrounds
Follow this tutorial if you don’t know how to install a background. This background will suit a 3 column blog, or a 2 column wide layout.
Some random stuff
Don’t forget I now have a Facebook fan page. I’m still getting friend requests at my old account and I’m concerned that you’re missing out on all my latest news. Please remember to follow the new page if you don’t already. I also have a new Twitter page (as of a month or so ago). If you’re still following the old one, please remember to follow the new one.

Hey Louis,
I want to put a PRINTER icon at the bottom of my posts (from Printerfriendly.com.) It tells me to place the HTML code where I want the printer to appear, and I can’t figure out where to add it so it ends up at the bottom of each post.
Can you help me figure this out? I have used JoliPrint before, but when I downloaded your Halloween template, it didn’t save it as a widget/gadget. Now I have found thet PrinterFriendly has a nice look and I would like to add it.
Here is the URL that is supposed to be added:

Hi Paula,
Open your blog’s html code and expand the widget templates by checking the box. Then hit ctrl+f to open the search box. Enter into the box and have it locate the code. Enter your printer code just above the tag. Hope that helps.

I figured it out . . . I found where all of the information for the footer was and placed it in there before the email icon . . . and it works.
I had tried before, at the top where it has Post Footer info, and it didn’t work . . . .so I kept looking and found the “expanded” version.
Thanks for your help.

I am SO SAD . . . I can not get the Plain Header tamplate to work. I have tried to save it at least 5 times and it keeps coming back as an error . . . so then I tried the background. It worked except the top was white . . I am now going back and starting from scratch with the background . . . I can not find the info for the Minima template so I am using the most simple of the blogger templates.
Again, I am so sad because I LOVED the template L-{

The white space by the way is where your title will appear – you will need to make your title visible in your blog header settings though

I really love your blogger designs, but I wish three-column templates were available.
It’s hard to find new templates now that Blogger has the template designer available.

Hi Cheryl, you can turn any template into a 3 column one by following my tutorial on making a 3 column blog. Unfortunately I can not create templates in every format due to time constraints, but you’re more than welcome to modify them yourself. Have a go…..tweaking your own blog is very liberating :)

Hi Louise,
I’m trying to use the photo header template but I can’t figure out how to get the header so I can add my photo. I’m think I’m having a bit of a brain fart and can’t remember how to do it. Anyway you can explain it? I know how to add the picture in photoshop, I just can’t get the header. I’ve gone over the tutorial but still don’t understand.

Hi Mindy, you’ll have to get the header from the template (just go to your html code and get the link for the header and paste it into your browser address bar). Then save that header. Open it in Photoshop and add your text and photo. Then save it in your Photobucket (or other image host) and copy the image link which starts with http://. Paste that link over the original url for the image header :)
